        Security is heavily scrutinized because of the following 9/11 incident, passengers submit to and additional number of security screening upon entering into a secure location. For Examples, including X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, wands and pat down searches. These checks are utilized to increase the probability of deterring a potential threat. It is imperative that a multi layered security system is utilized effectively to reduce the likelihood of a reoccurrence of 9/11.

           The potential threats are not marked with neon signs indicating their intent, hence the significance of safety and security play a pivotal role. Airports are inundated with hundreds of thousands of people traveling and working within their confines at any given time. Security checks, passengers and staff need to be educated in identifying activities considered peculiar or out of place. We are the main kine of defense and need to be hyper vigilant. Because effective aviation security must begin beyond our borders, and as a result of extraordinary cooperation from anywhere in the world traveling from or through nations that are state sponsors of  terrorism or other countries of interest will be required to go through enhanced screening.

         The Lack of public commitment and inconveniences on passengers would be the primary limitation concerning this layer. An emphasis on the importance of such security checks needs to be instituted. Due to the lack of public commitment, anger is widespread concerning the casual of delays and missing flights stemming from increased security measures. Security measures are not convenient but are essential and play a pivotal role within the 20-layered system.
